Ciao Bellas! I’m DYING over the ultra feminine Sicilian inspired hair and makeup shown on the Dolce and Gabbana Fall 2011 Runway at Milan Fashion Week!  I’m ALSO dying over their handsomely gorgeous androgynous look! D&G’s Fall 2011 collection was all about the contrast between masculine and feminine, which you could see in both the clothes and the beauty look. Check out the hotness!

SHOW: Dolce & Gabbana Fall 2011

MAKUP ARTIST: Pat McGrath

HAIR: Guido Paulo

For the feminine look, makeup artist Pat McGrath (my fave) created a look that was "ultra feminine, ultra gorgeous - very sensual, rosy, pretty, glowing," she said. She used the darkest taupe shade from The Smooth Eye Colour Quad in Femme Fatale creating an almond shape and then used the lightest shade from the palette in the center of the eyelid.

McGrath lined the top lashline with bl ack pencil, and then brightened up the eye with shimmer in the corner of the eyes. Pat dusted The Blush Luminous Cheek Colour in Warm along the cheekbones and up to the temples and a touch of The Illuminator in Eva for a naturally glowing effect. To keep the look feminine, Pat mixed The Classic Cream Lipstick in both Glam and Dramatic to give the lips a berry stained look. For the nails, Pat used The Intense Nail Lacquer in Cosmopolitan, Shocking and Fire. I LOVE the short red nails! Perfect touch!

"The girls are beautiful Sicilian femme fatales," Redken Creative Consultant Guido Palau said. "It's what I imagine a Sicilian woman would do when she's feeling her most beautiful." He applied Redken Layer Lift 07 for volume and set the hair in rollers. After giving them a blowout, Guido twisted each side of the hair and secured it into a chignon in the back. He let pieces of hair fall naturally on the face and finished the look with Redken Forceful 23.

The Masculine Look:

For the masculine models, McGrath applied a mixture of neutral cream base to the skin for a monochromatic look. She strengthened the brows with a mix of powder and eyebrow pencils, then blended a brown shadow all over the lids and at the lashes. The lips had a touch of lip balm.

"Girls like to play with androgyny," Guido told us. "It's really fun and liberating." For the masculine hairstyle, Guido slicked the hair into a tight French twist, leaving the hair at the crown out of the style. They combed that portion to one side of the forehead for a pompadour effect. Last, he slicked down the hair in front of the ears so they looked like sideburns.

There’s nothing I didn’t love about the beauty looks on D&G’s runway. Bellissima!
