Happy New Year Lovelies!
I’m so excited about this new beauty trend! It was all over the runways for Spring 2011 and it is going to be HOT!!!
First off, it still looks like you can keep the hot rollers and flat irons in storage. The messy, easy hair styles are still going strong, But now the focus is definitely on the EYES -and it’s all about blasts of VIVID COLORS! Such an exciting change in makeup!
Check out the hotness:

Coral Eye Shadow at Derek Lam Spring 2011 Runway

The coolest thing about this look is, it’s actually so easy to achieve!
Applying multiple colors of eyeshadows has always been tricky – one color in the corner, another under the brow, another in the crease, and yet another along lash line WHEW!! Luckily in 2011 all you need is ONE COLOR– either with a thin sweep just above lash line or covering the entire lid and even under eyes (This is good news for those of us who are always in a hurry or not so handy with the makeup brushes.)

Model backstage at Carolina Herrera Show
I LOVE this color from the Carolina Herrera show because I think it could look good on all skin tones. It’s spicy – like cinnamon colored. *You can achieve this look simply by swiping lipstick over your lids!

Etro Spring 2011
It was all about lavender at Etro!
Notice how they created a “smoky” look by sweeping color all over the lid and even under eyes. Perfect for evening!
If you’re feeling really bold, try out these major colors shown at Dior Spring 2011!

These colors are so fun and playful. I can’t wait to try them all. (Although I doubt I can pull it off with bright lipstick like the models from Dior.)

I’m DYING over this canary yellow shown at Peter Som’s show!!! Even though it’s such a bright color, being paired with the light pink lip actually gives it somewhat of a demure look. Genius!
Don’t think you can pull off color?? Don’t forget, in makeup black is a color too! (and who doesn’t look good in black?)

CHANEL
Chanel models are wearing Chanel’s new Quadra Eye Shadow in Regard Perle that will be out in March!
Quick tricks for using color:
- To get the perfect color, try mixing two together for the perfect shade!
- Besides eyeshadows, you can also use lipstick and colored eyeliner!
- Pair bright colored eyes with soft, dewy skin and neutral lips for the perfect combination of soft and bold!
- If the bright colors scare you, maybe start out by just trying on more subtle shades like soft gold, amber or burgundy. Lovely
- Easily create a smokey look by sweeping shadow under lower lash line!
Ok my beauty addicts. Unfortunately I threw out all my bright colors years ago, so I gotta go grab some so I can rock this look! (Hope you do the same!)
And don’t forget to check back often for more goodies!
Peace, Love and Sexiness!
